The Story

In a world run by the dead, is art worth anything... Or everything?

First it was only a common infection. Then people started dying. And then coming back. Aubrey and her friends travel the silent roads of Northern America, mostly meeting hordes of the Animated. The usual, in other words. The end of the world runs on schedule.

In a world without restrictions the crew struggles to live freer than ever. Though the Animated seem to creep up to them when they least expect them to. The problem with the Animated isnt killing them. They are slow and dumb, but if not dealt properly they will soon sprout back up like pesky weeds after summer rain.

The apocalypse stripped the performance out of everything. What remains is the human nature at its core. Post-apocalyptic fiction with LGBTQ+ characters at its heart You Cannot Kill Me in a Way That Matters is as much about survival and as its about what surviving is actually for.

The World

The Animated have a tendency to find you like the tide finds the shore; inevitably.

The fall came suddenly. The old rules about what you're allowed to do and who you're allowed to be, dissolved with the government and society that enforced them. But only the Animated roam truly free.

The people left behind are so few that seeing others is more comforting than threathening. For what is out there is more terrifying than any human.

The Animated
They don't think. They don't negotiate. They're manageable in small groups. Yet their problem is that they dont stay dead for long
The Work
Aubrey has always viewed the world through a different lens. Now she feels the pain of existance and struggles with being usefull. Though what could be more usefull than creating the reason to fight till the end.
